A new policy on Support for Decision Making is being developed by the NDIA. Consultation from NDIS participants, carers, support coordinators, and disability organisations is currently being sought.

On 17 June 2021, the Australian Technical Advisory Group on Immunisation (ATAGI) reviewed their advice on the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. They recommended Pfizer as the preferred for vaccine for people aged under 60 years. This updates the previous recommendation for Pfizer over the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine in those aged 16 to under 50 years.
Unrestricted travel across Victoria from Friday. Non-residential disability services can open to more people. PPE and Worker Mobility restrictions still apply. Anyone with COVD-19 symptoms must get tested.
All National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) participants aged 16 years and over and carers aged 16 years and over of NDIS participants of any age are eligible to receive the COVID-19 vaccine from Tuesday, 8 June.

NDS has called a meeting at short notice for tomorrow for residential disability service providers regarding the latest updates.
