Risk Management Workshop

All support services involve some degree of risk. Managing risk well helps every service provider to meet NDIS requirements and safeguard the safety and wellbeing of participants. These interactive workshops will assist sole, small and medium providers to implement relevant and effective risk management systems in their organisations and are the next step to the sessions held last year. The workshops will include an introduction to new resources for providers supporting people from cultural and linguistically diverse backgrounds.

The workshops are facilitated by Leanne Syme from E-Qual Disability Consultants. Leanne is a current NDIS auditor and has audited/evaluated disability services against various State and National Standards since 1997 and understands risk management in the context of the NDIS requirements.

The workshop will provide practical examples and include:

  • Defining the risk terminology
  • Supporting participants from diverse backgrounds and risk
  • Identifying and assessing risks
  • Managing risks
  • Documentation to support effective risk management
  • Risk and continuous improvement
This series of workshops is part of the NDS Risk, Incidents and Complaints Management project for sole, small and medium providers funded by the NDIS Commission. Download the Risk Incidents and Complaints Management interactive PDF for more information and resources.
