Mealtime Management Workshop

Mealtime Management is a one hour workshop that focuses on recognising and responding to choking and swallowing risks to help reduce them and improve outcomes for clients. Learn how to manage mealtime safety risks to meet the quality standard requirements and improve the mealtime experience of the people you support.

You will also:

  • Know the signs and symptoms of swallowing and choking risks
  • Be aware of quality standard requirements in aged and disability care
  • Learn the best practice methods for reducing risks and responding to choking
  • Know how to use a mealtime management plan and implement specialist advice
  • Gain case study practice for reducing risk and improving the persons mealtime experience
  • Know what to do and document if a person chooses to not follow safety advice

This workshop is in partnership with Preventing Harm Initiative (PHI) and is facilitated by Marie Daws Denley. Marie is an experienced Infection Prevention and Control Manager and Quality Assurance Manager with a demonstrated history of working in the hospital and care industries. Skilled in Quality Management, Quality Assurance, Infection Prevention and Control, Clinical Governance, Staff immunisation, and Quality System.
