NDS Acquires Close To $1 million In Funding For The Skills Passport and Growth of WA Workforce

NDS's Workable WA 'Grow The Workforce, Strengthen The Market' initiative is one of the 16 projects receiving a portion of $10 million in grants from the Jobs and Markets Fund (JMF). The aims of the initiative include increasing NDIS market employment opportunities across Western Australia, broadening access to employment geographically, encouraging school-leavers to consider employment within the disability sector and strengthening provider skills by way of training and development. 

In Addition, a Skills Passport project will be utitlised to assist NDIS providers and self-managed participants find qualified staff.

The NDS WA Industry Plan foresees a significant increase in NDIS job opportunities across the next three years (from 10,507 in 2019 to 20,144 in 2020). The economy will also improve with rise of employment in the disability sector with total economic contributions leaping from $1.4 billion in 2019 to $2.7 billion in the year 2020.
