Independent assessments on hold
Minister for the NDIS, Linda Reynolds, was yesterday quoted in the media saying Independent Assessments will not be implemented until feedback from the current trials has been assessed, and further consultation across the sector has taken place.
While no official statement has been released, The Australian today reports that in yesterday’s meeting of state and territory disability ministers, Minister Reynolds confirmed that the proposed legislation would be put on hold.
This is an enormously welcome outcome for the hundreds of stakeholders and interested parties, including NDS, that called for the rollout to be put on ice.
